Ground Schools

In addition to offering quality flight instruction, Nassau Flyers offers various ground school courses that you may take advantage of. Although ground school courses are not mandatory additions to your flight training, we highly recommend them to prepare you for your written exams, and to make you a safer pilot.

Private Pilot Ground School - $259
Nassau Flyers' Private Pilot Ground School is based on the Jeppesen Private Pilot Course, and it incorporates the Jeppesen Private Pilot Textbook, the Jeppesen Private Pilot Video Series, and the Jeppesen Private Pilot Test Guide.

The ground school is held one night per week from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., and it lasts for 12 weeks. Weekly class sessions include video clips, test questions, and general review. The class size is limited to 10 people, and you will be ready to take your Private Pilot written exam at the conclusion of the class.
Instrument Ground School - $259
The Instrument Ground School is designed to prepare you for the written exam for your Instrument Rating. Similar to the Private Pilot Ground School, it is based on the Jeppesen Instrument materials, and it incorporates the Jeppesen Instrument Textbook, the Instrument Video Series, and the Instrument Test Guide.

The Instrument ground school is held one night per week from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., and it lasts for 12 weeks. Weekly class sessions include video clips, test questions, and general review. The class size is limited to 10 people, and you will be ready to take your Instrument written exam at the conclusion of the class.

GPS Classes

Introduction to the Garmin 430 - $39
This class teaches you about the functionality of the Garmin 430, and how to use it to your advantage while flying under Visual Flight Rules (VFR).

This class discusses the setup of the Garmin 430, the various pages and chapters associated with the GPS, and how to input flight plans and waypoints for VFR flying. The class is one classroom session that lasts from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Introduction to the Garmin G1000 - $39
This class teaches you about the functionality of the G1000, and how to use it to your advantage while flying VFR.

This class discusses the equipment associated with the G1000, the various functions of the softkeys and buttons, and how to create flight plans for VFR flying. The class is one classroom session that lasts from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The iPad In Aviation - $39
With hundreds of applications for aviation, the iPad can be a very useful tool for pilots. Learn about the functionality of the iPad and the different apps that are used by pilots. Bring your iPad and we will take it from there.
