NFl FLIGHT RULES

  1. Nassau Flyers, (hereafter referred to as NFI) shall supply its aircraft (maintained by certified A&P mechanics) to approved renter pilots on a reservation basis.
  2. Upon being accepted by NFI for use of its aircraft, the undersigned renter pilot agrees to adhere to the following rules, regulations, and conditions:
  3. All renter pilots must adhere to NFl and FAR currency requirements, including the "Flight Review" and "Night Currency" requirements of FAR Part 61.57 (1994).
  4. Renter pilot must be 90 day current, and have rented an aircraft from NFI within 90 days to fly an aircraft without an instructor.
  5. A current medical certificate and pilot certificate must be with the pilot when acting as pilot in command.
  6. No one shall fly when the visibility is less than 3 miles and/or the ceiling is less than 1500 feet, unless instrument rated, current and checked out for instrument operations. No renter pilot will be permitted to fly when the maximum current or forecast wind velocity is equal to or greater than 25 knots. For this limitation, wind gusts are considered the maximum wind velocity. No flying is permitted when the crosswind component exceeds 15 knots.
  7. It shall be the pilot's responsibility to properly pre-flight the airplane and to obtain a current weather briefing for each flight.
  8. All pre-flight discrepancies should be noted on an Aircraft Squawk Sheet, and the Director of Customer Services should be notified for corrective action. In-flight discrepancies should also be noted on an Aircraft Squawk Sheet and reported. Squawk Sheets can be found in the aircraft clip board, front office and the debriefing room. Only one squawk per Squawk Sheet and please be as thorough as possible.
  9. Prior to taxiing aircraft, the pilot shall determine that ramps and taxiways are clear of obstructions. Prior to leaving the ramp area, radio contact is to be established and maintained with ground control. Taxi speed is not to exceed approximately 10 MPH.
  10. No person, other than the renter pilot or an NFl flight instructor shall sit in the left seat.
  11. Renter pilots may not permit another person to fly the aircraft.
  12. Aircraft rentals are subject to minimum charges. These apply when the aircraft is booked (or used) for eight hours during our office hours of 8:00 am – 6:00 pm daily or, for each 24-hr period. The rental minimum charges are 3 hours weekdays and 4 hours weekends and holidays. Weekly minimums are 15 hours per seven-day periods.
  13. All aircraft must be returned at the scheduled time; if not, operations shall be notified immediately. If failure to return is weather related, the renter pilot shall bear the expense of having NFl retrieve the aircraft.
  14. In the event of an emergency or breakdown, the pilot shall call NFl for instructions.
  15. Repairs to aircraft are not to be authorized without the consent of NFl.
  16. Landings shall be made only at established paved airports with a minimum runway distance of 2500 feet.
  17. Charges for fuel and oil, incurred and paid for by the renter pilot at airports other than Republic, will be credited to the pilot by NFl upon presentation of a receipt The receipt must include the vendors name and address, aircraft number, gallons, price per gallon, and total paid with "NASSAU FLYERS." on the receipt. Tiedown, parking, and landing fees are the responsibility of the renter pilot.
  18. All aircraft shall be flown at power settings of 75% or less as determined by the proper power chart for that particular aircraft and altitude, except for takeoff, climb or as noted on the aircraft's clip board.
  19. Aircraft shall be returned to the assigned tiedown spaces and properly secured at the conclusion of each flight. During the nesting season, cowl plugs shall be installed after each flight. Aircraft shall not be swung or taxied into their tiedown locations, but shall be shut down in the taxilane and pushed back using the aircraft's towbar.
  20. Payment is due upon completion of each rental and/or lesson. A current credit card is required to be kept on file with NFI. Your credit card account will be charged at the completion of each daily closing if payment for that day’s activity has not been arranged by some other means. Any unpaid balances beyond 30 days will be subject to interest charges of 15% APR, computed monthly.
  21. The rental pilot is responsible for advising NFI of any changes to the information provided on your rental agreement.
  22. Reservations may be cancelled by NFI at their discretion, and the aircraft reassigned to another renter pilot if the reserving pilot is more than 30 minutes late for their reservation and has not contacted NFI.
  23. In the event of a no show that is non-weather related, there will be a 0.5 hour aircraft fee for every two hours that the aircraft is reserved. If the aircraft is booked with an instructor, there will be an additional charge of 1 hour for the instructor.
  24. All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
